A Word from the Director

We are proud to celebrate our 28th Silicon Valley Open Tae Kwon Do Championships. As always, we bring together the highest quality judging and competitors from all areas of California. Students can test their skills in Kyroogi, poomse, open forms, weapon forms, board breaking, and combination kicks. To uphold the Olympic spirit, we have sparring using the Olympic rules.

In the beginning, Choi's Tae Kwon Do had two main visions. The first was to spread the Korean art of Tae Kwon Do to the bay area. The second was to give students a way to test their skills in a safe and friendly environment. Twenty five years later the vision remains the same. The Silicon Valley Open Tae Kwon Do Championships is one of the most prestigious tournaments of the year.

When challenged with competition, students learn to push themselves to a higher level. This is one of the key ingredients in becoming a true martial artist. The mind set and physical training for this tournament will provide the necessary challenge for our students. Along with this, I promise you a top-notch tournament with excellent judging.

I wish you well and hope you find as much satisfaction with competing in the Silicon Valley Championships as I find in directing it.
